CONSCIOUS FEMININE: MURAL SERIES

Originally created as a digital/vector illustration and midwifed into the physical realm using ultra-vibrant & holographic vinyl on aluminum panels.

Installed at the heart of the Conscious Homestead fire oven, the “Conscious Feminine” Mural Series is more than just a visual masterpiece—it’s a radiant tribute to the Divine Feminine in all her forms. From the spiritual realm to the natural world to the legacies of embodied Black feminists in modern history, this mural stirs both soul and senses.

The fire oven it adorns isn’t just for cooking—it’s for nourishing. Meals are prepared with purpose: from community care shares and ancestral cooking classes to BIPOC mentorships and fellowship feasts. The mural watches over every simmer, roast, and flame-lit gathering, reminding us that care work, creativity, and resistance all belong in the kitchen.

Yemaya & Oshun

Created based on Yemayá & Oshun. Yemaya is the Yoruba Orisha of motherhood and the sea. She is the great mother of us all and represents Mother Earth, the life giver. As the patron of women, she is associated with the moon which has a powerful influence on women.
Oshun, whose domain is freshwater and rivers, is referred to in some stories as either Yemayá's daughter or sister. These peices were created in honor of the two powerful deities to represent elements of the sun, moon, and water.
The flying fish represents the Flying Fish Fellowship, a seasonal, all-immersive Afro-Indigenous, Afro-TransAtlantic-centered farming, herbalism, and homesteading program for BIPOC Vermonters to connect with the land, each other, and benevolent ancestors.
Genderqueer Gaia

Genderqueer Gaia was created to represent a Mother Earth, motherhood, the various gender identities a part of the VT BIPOC community, and the Conscious Homestead urban farms & gardens which consists of organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and fruits grown from seed.
The food and herbs harvested from these gardens becomes free food for fellows, volunteers and mentees of the homestead, food for the free Community Care Shares that are dispersed to BIPOC in the community, ingredients for ancestral food cooking classes, herbs and botanicals for small batch products sold in the homestead’s Botanica and for Herbal Care Packages provided by Conscious Homestead.

Step into a world where the aluminum panels becomes a tapestry of courage, where the ultra-vibrant vinyl captures the essence of strength, and tells a story of remarkable Black historical femme figures: Harriet Tubman (center), Nichelle Nichols (bottom left), Toni Morrison (left), Fannie Lou Hamer (upper left corner), Bell Hooks (middle left), Octavia Butler (upper center), Marsha P. Johnson (left to Octavia), Audre Lorde (upper right), Angela Davis (right), and Nina Simone (lower right).
This captivating art piece is a mesmerizing tribute that brings to life the indomitable spirits of Black historical femmes who defied conventions, shattered barriers, and left an indelible mark on history. “Lightworkers” is portal to the past, a celebration of the present, and an inspiration for the future.
