Madonna’s Earth — Framed Art Print

from $55.00

💚 Green Threshold — the heart that survived, the Queen who reclaimed her throne

As the Black Madonna rediscovers herself, she finally reclaims her rightful seat at the throne of Heaven as Queen of Earth.

This piece began as a mural in Waterbury, Vermont — painted on a wall, in public, for everyone. A Black Madonna standing on the Earth itself, arms open, rainbow overhead. A devotional act in the middle of an ordinary street.

How did we get here? Through the parallels of human history — propaganda, falsehood, deceit, crimes against humanity. The Black Madonna was always a joke to the Earthly realm after the loss of her Son, the Child of Hope. He was stolen from her. She was left hopeless and sad for centuries. She spiraled into darkness. She mourned. She paid for sins that were never hers to carry.

But her search never went in vain.

It was through her devotion and her battles in the dark that she overcame the veil of forgetfulness and found her truth: self-love. And it was then her Son appeared — a sweet baby, waiting to be held in his Mother's arms again.

I made up this whole story over a meal at Skinny Pancake. 🤭

But maybe it's not made up at all. Maybe this is the collective cry of Haitian Motherhood — the continuous battle of losing children to oppressive forces and systems on Earth. Maybe this is why the Black Madonna is revered so deeply in Haiti. She has been the national Spirit of Haiti since it became the first free Black Republic in the New World.

She was always Queen. She just had to remember.

Now you can bring her home from the wall.

Printed on archival-quality paper, framed and ready to hang. Made to order in four sizes.
